Jeff's Ultra Marathon/ Brielle Preschool and Party

Brielle's preschool had Dr. Seuss week and celebrated with a pajama day, crazy sock day, and stripe and hat day. She loved it!

Jeff decided a marathon wasn't long enough so he decided to run an Ultra race. This is a 55K which equates to 34.2 miles. I was a little flabbergasted when he decided he would go on his 15 mile training run and see how it went and if it went well he would sign up for the race. Well he twisted his ankle really bad on that run and still came home and signed up for the run... sigh... Regardless he ran really hard. He came in 11th place in his age division and overall and averaged about a 12:05 minute pace which was slower than he had wanted but faster than he thought he had done when he finished. Josh ran 15 miles with him and Jeff said that was a huge help. We met him with about four miles to go to cheer him on and then headed to the finish. He finished in about six hours and 50 minutes. He said the marathon was a lot harder on his body he felt at the end but the ultra was much harder during the race because the terrain was so tough and so hilly. I'm super proud of him doing something that is so hard and finishing! Diane and Skylee and I went and cheered him on. It was fun.

Brielle got invited to a princess birthday party. She didn't want to wear any of the princess dresses but wanted to wear her "spinny dress" and put makeup and jewelry and paint her nails so we glammed her up and sent her to the party. Supposedly the real Cinderella was going to be there so she was super excited.
