Skylee just informed her Nana that she has too many friends and

 she needs to get rid of some of them.

So much fun!

One of my friends asked me to watch her baby for her for a few hours today and I thought yeah, no problem Jaston would sleep the whole time. Little did I know it would turn out they were both awake and together for over an hour. Jaston wa very curious about our little friend but also jealous. He didn't want Mom holding that baby, I mean she already has a baby... He also did not like baby using any of his toys or looking at the remote... We have some sharing to work on.. He did play pretty cute with him for a few and then they both started demanding attention and the picture taking ceased. Sky was intrigued and helped a lot with the baby. So ready for three? Heck no! Here are a few pics I was playing around with on photoshop today (my Valentine's present from Jeff).

PS; This is Diane's (Jeff's Mom) Valentine's day present. A brand spankin new 2011 Mazda Miata. Wow, super nice... We had fun playing around with that! Thanks Nana for sharing and taking us on rides and letting us drive! Lee was super generous with this present ;)

Our Jaston

Teria has been watching my kids while I go to work a few times a week for a few hours and she sent me these pics she took the other day. So naturally I had to post them of my little man. I can't believe he is 15 months old now. Man, do I love this little guy and he has me wrapped around his little finger. I can't stand to hear this kid cry (and he does a lot). He is the pickiest eater on the face of the earth  he will literally look at a piece of food and shake his head yes or no depending on the appearance of the food; occasionally he will touch it and if it's the wrong temperature or feel wrong he will refuse to take a bite. 

      He loves when I get down on the ground esp when I lay down he gets a HUGE smile on his face and runs and hugs me. He doesn't like the feel of dirt on his hands, loves fish sticks and eggs (my only fall-backs). He is super sensitive when I tell him no. He listens MOST of the time. His first word other than Mamma and Dadda was Cracker and today he said Gampa (Grandpa). He loves to be chased. He will only kiss me if Jeff kisses me first out of jealousy. He loves his big sister and thinks she is hilarious as long as she doesn't touch him. He LOVES his Momma. If I'm in the room he wants me. Thankfully he transitions really well after I leave he gets over it pretty fast.

    Man, do I love this kid!

How Do I Love Thee... Let Me Count the ways..

So I was lacking ideas for Valentine's Day and my friend showed me this site. Super cute ideas and I loved this one for an advent calender. Basically you get a small muffin tin with 24 holes and you make magnets to cover the hole( super easy you just print out and add magnets on the back). Then you fill each hole with a reason why you love your sweetheart and you can try candys. We tried snickers but they were a little big. Anyhow I was super excited with how they turned out. I am NOT a crafter but it was definitely doable and really only took a few hours. SO if you don't have any ideas for your sweetie go HERE and get some cute ideas.

I needed a break from reality so I decided to visit my sis in Cedar and we did them together. It was a blast and much funner to do it with Teona while the kids were playing. SO nice to have them completely entertained and having fun! They are pretty tired of my house and our toys.

ICAN do it!

So I applied for a program called ICAN (Interpreter Certification Advancement Network) about a month ago. You had to fill out a paper application and send in a video application as well. As many of you know I am a level one certified sign language interpreter. I am required within four years to become professionally certified or I lose my certification. SO this program is designed to help interpreters in Utah who are in my situation prepare to take their professional test because supposedly (esp for interpreters in Southern Utah) it is impossible to pass! I have had several friends attempt it many times and not be able to pass.
They accepted 15 interpreters from all over Utah to do this program. It is based in SLC which means I will be going up there once a month for a Friday night meeting and then three times during the year I have Immersion Weekends which are Thurs through Sat intense training and no voice. I also meet bi-weekly with an interpreter mentor and a Deaf mentor. This will help a TON to have someone closely mentoring me and evaluating my skills.
Yes, I am nervous because this is as close to school for interpreters as we get down here and I have no professional training as an interpreter. I have a feeling I am in for a beating but we will see. I have had some amazing mentors and help down here so I can't say I have had no help just no interpreter training courses.
I'm a little nervous to drive back and forth from SLC so much but am way excited that my friend from here was accepted also so at least we can car-pool. :) So March4 - Dec 16 my life is going to be crazy busy but hopefully it will pay off.

Attempting the Impossible.

So I mentioned Madi (my little sis of six years from the Big Brother, Big Sister Program) wanted me to add sleeves to her prom dress for Junior prom at the end of the month. Yeah... anyone who knows me well might be laughing by now because I have ZERO experience with such a task. But I thought it would be a good challenge for me and that it was. I am posting pics as promised because it did turn out OK and Madi seemed super excited so I am just going to put confidence in the fact she is actually going to wear the dress(or so she says). She wouldn't let me take pics of her face but I will try to post pics from the dance so we can see her in her full beauty.

Yes, miraculously here he IS smiling.

I get sick to my stomach just looking at these pics I feel so bad for my baby. So the story? Madi came over yesterday and wanted me to help add sleeves to her prom dress (which by the way I have NO experience and will post pics later IF it turns out)

ANYWAY my sewing machine was hooked up and setting on my table. Jaston apparently didn't see the cord and fell forehead-first into the tile. I felt so bad and rocked him and held him and he was up and running five minutes later.... One hour later... he does it AGAIN. Exactly the same except this time instead of hitting his forehead he hit his already large goose-egg. So these are the pics of his goose-egged- goose-egg. Yes, I was freaking out and yes Jeff was telling me there was nothing insta-care would do except to tell us to watch for signs of concussion or any other signs. Oh wow, just telling the story makes me re-live those awful feelings of my hurt baby and nothing I can do. I did go straightway and unpluug that darn machine though!

Communication is the key.

Jaston just signed food this morning for the first time! Proud Mama. Now he knows dog, food, milk, more, all done/finished , please, and will nod his head yes or no. He is 13 months now. 

We're starting to communicate wahoo!

PS: Skylee just sneezed and said, "Mom, can you go get me a tissue I just had a bad blesh-you."

So I got a hold of Teria's pics from Kelsi's wedding and picked out all my favorites. K, so there was a LOT! I made them into collages so it wasn't quite as painful to see all of them but I couldn't exclude any they were just so fun and memorable. So here are my MANY collages of the wedding. It was beautiful and so special and we are super excited to have an addition to our family.
