Six Weeks

This little lady is six weeks old today. She loves to sleep. I'm not sure when they get out of this sleepy stage but if it were up to her she would wake up every three hours to eat and sleep the rest of the day. She does pretty well at night. She goes abt for hours til her first feeding abt 8-1 and then eats again at abt 4 or five. Last night she woke up at 2:30 and didn't wake up again til 6:30. It was great except it took her an hour and half to go back to sleep. Being awake at night doesn't seem to bother me anymore. I've reached a point where it doesn't really matter how much I'm up I'm tired no matter what. It's a good state to be in right now mentally other than forgetting things and being a bit more space than usual. She is pretty mellow except when she is hungry. There is no consoling this girl when she is hungry. She needs food immediately or she will scream until she gets it. Everyone is so surprised how loud she is for being so tiny.
She doesn't lack love around here for sure. Her bro and sister love her to pieces and are fighting all the time in who gets to hold her. Skylee has been really in  to helping me change her bum lately. With a little more practice maybe
She an do it on her own.
We sure love her and she fits right in :)

Downward Dog

Skylee has field day tomorrow and last night she told me she wanted to get stronger so her class could win the tug if war. So we got out an exercise video which happened to be a yoga tape and she did it did abt 45 min. After a bit she told me her class was definitely going to win now. I love her confidence.

Skylee's Dance Recital

Skylee had her dance recital last night. She did a great job.
They did their dance to Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah. When I told Sky to go stand against the wall for some pics she had many poses for me.

May 2013

One of our sweet friends and Jeff’s coworker, Shelly, threw a party for Brielle so everyone from Jeff’s work could come and meet Brielle. It turned out great. We had a nice lunch and got to visit with some people Jeff works with. I was surprised at how many people brought presents for the other kids too. Shelly and her family got each of the kids their own personalized book. They are awesome! They are the main characters of their books and their siblings names are in them too. Jaston's was a batman one, Skylee's a princess ballerina and Brielle's was a nursery rhyme one. Such a fun idea!

Just a random pic of my girls that night

My little lady turned one month on May 13th. She is 8lbs now and 20 inches long. (about 5th percentile for both). Jeff thought we needed to celebrate so we took the kids to dinner and got brownies. Brielle slept through her party.
The other day Jaston decided he wanted to hold Brielle for a long time. Usually it's about ten seconds and he's done. So I got a few cute pics.

St. George

We went down to St. George last weekend because Jeff wanted to cheer on his friend, Taylor, in the half Iron Man ( he wanted to do it but it filled up before he could). While we were down there Brielle got to meet a bunch of special people to our family ( Jeff's Aunt Nancy and get girls- Katie and Emily watched the kids while we went to the temple, Cassie and Danelle- my sweet girlfriends got to meet her. Her Great Grandma and Grandpa Young got to snuggle with her for the first time. Kaesha and Britny came by my parents to take a peek too. She was a popular little lady this weekend. Here are some pics from the weekend.
A Johnson weekend wouldn't be complete without a late night game of Hand and Foot.

Jaston was on heaven. My dad was building a ramp for Potato races for his work retreat. Jaston spent hours racing his cars down it.

Great Grandma Young doing a puzzle with Jaston multiple times.

Fun with Nana- we went swimming, played at the park, played in the balls, the kids had a sleepover with Nana. Skylee, Diane and me went and got a manicure and pedicure and went shopping for shoes while the boys went I a movie. Overall it was a great weekend.

Motherhood

No one can comprehend how hard or how amazing it is to be a mom until you are one. Truly nothing has challenged me on a daily basis like my children do. I worry everyday for their safety. I worry every day if I am raising them the way The Lord would want me to. I worry every day that when they are in my care something bad would happen to them and I would never forgive myself. I remember the day I realized that constant worry would never go away.  There would always be something to worry abt even when they're grown and  have their own kids I will worry.
There are days I go to bed exhausted feeling like a failure of a mother. I had let the kids play/ watch electronics all day, I had yelled, I hadn't been as patient as I should, I had hurt one of their feelings or the list goes on and on. But there are those moments which make it all worth it and more. When my Jaston comes up and gives me a big hug or kiss. When I get to sit and snuggle with any one or all three of them.  When i hold and nurse my baby and look at all her tiny, amazing, perfect pieces that miraculously formed inside of me. When I see Skylee just adore reading and read for hours and hours.
Those precious moments when Jaston and Skylee are playing and laughing together. When they look out for each other. Saving a treat for the other, thinking of them first. I love when Skylee comes in at 5:30 on Mother's Day cuz she can't wait any longer to give me her sweet Mother's Day cards she made at school. :)
I love to see them with their Dad. They adore him. They love to play with him and watch him play. I tell you my husband is the most attractive when he is holding Brielle or playing with the kids. How blessed I am to have a husband who loves us, supports us, and leads us.
As I gaze at their sweet, sleeping faces everything melts away and I realize it's all worth it. The tears, the stress, the guilt is all worth it. At the end of the day I am overwhelmed by the love I have for these amazing kids. These special spirits entrusted to me by my Heavenly Father. They are so special and beautiful and pure and what a blessing it is to have them such a special part of my life! I am truly blessed to have them call me Mommy.
