Jaston Tales

I was just thinking about something that happened the other day when we were on our way up to Teona and Wayne's in Payson. We had stopped in Filmore to get lunch and the kids had eaten so Kelsi and I were sitting eating while the kids were playing at a park. I saw a little boy start to push Jaston so my Mama Bear instincts started up and I got up to go have a talk with that little bully but then I saw he had run away and figured it had worked itself out. I could see he was not being too kind to other kids so I was keeping an eye on him making sure he didn't get close to any of my kids or Brinlee and also trying to get a read on who was the parent and see if they were watching what was going on.
At one point I saw Jaston wrap his arms around Brielle and guard her from the little boy who was trying to push her; I thought that was very sweet. I got distracted with something else and hadn't thought much of it and Jaston came over and sat down at the table. He looked up at us and said, "I finally got a chance to talk to that little boy's parents and let them know that he wasn't being very nice." It made Kelsi and myself laugh out loud. I was very proud of Jaston for taking care of his own problem. He said he had told the little boy to stop and then when he didn't he informed the parents that there was a problem.
I could tell the little boy was being watched by his grandparents but the grandpa did start getting on the kid for being nice after that and they eventually left, but I sure enjoyed his announcement that he had "finally got a chance to talk to his parents." Love that kid!

Wet Wednesday Splash Pad

Now that we are in our new home I am trying to get a little more structure into our day. Monday and Tuesday days are piano, gymnastic, library and family center days but we thought that we could make the other days fun days. So we are going to attempt to do "Wet Wednesday", "Thrill (or treat) Thursday", and "Friend Friday." We had friends over today and went to the splash pad on Wednesday. I felt it had been far too long since I had pulled out my camera so I took it out to get some fun shots of my adorable babies. They are so full of joy I love it!

This first picture is one of my favorites because it shows Jaston's personality. Whenever I stop to take time to do something he loves (like sit down to play Legos or do something fun), he always just gets so excited and runs and gives me a big hug. You can't see how far away the splash pad is but he started playing for about two minutes and couldn't stand it he had to run clear across the park (I was still trying to unload all the stuff and Brielle and myself) and gave me a giant hug. I had time enough to whip out my camera and snap a few pictures of his giant, excited, sweet, precious face before he got to me and hugged my knees. This kid is seriously one of the sweetest and most expressive boys you will ever meet.
My Skylee has always loved the water. She is my little fish.

Brielle is much more hesitant around the water and always has been. She loves to be around the kids and wants to be part of the fun but in a much  more tentative way.

Skylee has always been an amazing big sister to Brielle. I never have to hesitate to ask Skylee to help Brielle. Jaston is also a huge helper. The other day I saw him protecting her from a little boy on the park that was trying to push her. Brielle is seriously adored by her brother and sister.

Swimming Lessons Summer 2015

The kids (Jaston and Skylee) had swimming lessons this  year through Kristen Andrus and her kids. They did a fabulous job. My kids loved it and I felt they learned a ton in just two short weeks of 35 min classes. Jaston was so excited and told me that he can now go swimming without floaties! He did swim by himself for a few feet but not sure he could take on the whole pool without floaties, but I'm willing to let him try. Skylee was so close to being able to swim she just needed a confidence boost and I think this did it for her. They had a fun day the last day and I had Skylee go to Jaston's class. i think she liked being the "big" one.
 Love my kiddos!
