Skylee just told me: "When I get big I want to be a Mom like you."

Not sure there is a better compliment out there.

One Man's Junk...

So just went to our ward's annual Soup and Swap and thought it was something I should share for any of you out there that might be over any kind of activity groups. Each year our ward has a day (It's basically our DI drive) but from 1-5 in the afternoon you can go drop off all yoru stuff you want to take to DI at the church. Then at 6 everyone brings soup and rolls and cookies and has dinner then they open the doors and you go shopping through everyone else's stuff and just take what you want. Personally I think this is brilliant for so many reasons:
  • I would love to give all the stuff I give away to DI to someone who needs it in the ward but never know who it could go to.
  • It motivates me to go through my stuff and get rid of stuff (cuz I know I will be bringing in more)
  • It's free dinner and free stuff (can't beat that)
  • I am obsessed with free things so it is my heaven :)
  • You feel like you shared and you get new fun things
  • It's yard saling- or DI-ing on high cuz you don't have to pay.
Needless to say I had to have my husband literally come in and cut me off because I could have stayed there all night. My family was huge into yard saling growing up and we still love it. I think for me it is kind of a release. We never had a lot of money growing up  but we had enough that we could buy whatever we wanted at yard sales. Even when I have money I have a really hard time spending it so I feel like with yard sales I can basically get whatever I want and not feel guilty. Maybe that's a sickness of some sort. ;) I LOVE to find steals on things and you would be surprised what people give up. SOO anyway, I don't know if it's good to admit that this is actually a hobby I have to buy other people's junk to make my treasure but I can tell you this much I have got some dang good deals before and it's super rewarding to get dresses and pants with a $80 price tag on them for a buck! This year I scored on dresses for Skylee which is actually all I'm lacking in the clothes area for my kids so cha-ching I got like 6 super cute dresses for her.

PS; Yard-saling etc it is funner with friends. Ashley- my next door neighbor- went with me and made it extra fun :)

PSS; Jeff doesn't understand. He just looks at my piles kinda laughs and says "Whatever makes you happy." (which was said multiple times tonight)

Entering the World as a Married Couple...

The Happy Couple

Skylee was so excited to see Aunt Kelsi and Uncle Emil

The only thing that kept Jaston happy was the bridesmaid flowers.

Grandma and Jaston

My sweet family

Skylee and John

Taylor and Skylee

Skylee and "Princess " Kelsi

So I will be posting many pics of the wedding cuz I can't help it but I will do it in chunks. First little section is a few pics outside the temple. I wish I could say that this is all I will post of this particular event but it's probably not. I think I enjoyed her wedding more than my own (don't tell my husband or family that ).

Tying the Knot

So my baby sister, Kelsi, married her sweetheart , Emil Cluff, on Saturday Jan 22, 2011. I am so excited for them to spend their life and eternity together. It has been a fun and reflective experience for me to see these two go through their falling in love, engagement, and wedding process. I'm a little bit in denial that my last and little sister is married now but am super excited for them.
Kelsi had a dream of what she wanted for her wedding day and I think it turned out beautiful. The sealing was so special and the reception was gorgeous and fun. I don't have any of the pics yet from the reception or even the wedding day edited yet but these are her bridals that I promised I wouldn't post until she was married so here they are. Teria Brooks did their pics and she did an incredible job! I know I posted lots but trust me I had to cut out a LOT!

I wish them all the happiness in the world. We are super excited to have Emil in our family and are so proud of Kelsi in her choice to get sealed for time and all eternity in the temple.
It was a very special day. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cluff!

My Daughter

Skylee has decided her bed is boring and she has gotten into the habit of turning on her light so she can read and play at night while Mom and Dad have no idea. This is how I found her a few nights ago. I like how she's up against the door so we can't get in without her knowing and running back to her bed... not tonight :)

Cutest soccer player ever!

I just came across Skylee's team pics and realized I never posted them. She loved soccer and informs us all the time how good she is at playing soccer and kicking the ball. We might just have to get her back in this spring, I mean it is the best sport ever!

Once there was a snowman

So we got some snow here which is rare... Jeff leaves in the morning at 5:30 AM and he came in the other day and told me there was like three inches on the ground. I was a bit incoherant at the time and it didn't really register. Later that morning I heard the word snow and it registered what he had said, so I told Skylee to go look out the window and immediately she wanted to go outside. So we really don't have snow equipment at all so we put on like ten layers and braved the snow ( we put some latex gloves under our cloth ones and wow what a diff that makes). So Skylee LOVED it. She built a snowman for the first time, ate snow, made snow angels and had her first snowball fight. (I know at three and a half it's pathetic ;) So I took a million pics which I posted on facebook but I wanted to play around some with the pics so here's some fun edited pics of us playin in the snow.
