Quarantine Misc...

The past six weeks have been quite the adjustment. There are moments of boredom and quarreling but for the most part we have really enjoyed the slower life with less demands on our time. We have gotten into a pretty good routine of home school in the morning, going and getting the lunches from the school for lunch, free time, Mom-school which consists of reading a chapter from our book, learning a few signs, adding to our gratitude journal and learning something about Jesus Christ, followed by some more free time then dinner and then family time, Come Follow Me or Restoration study then bed. It has been nice to spend so much time together. Here are some pics of things we have been doing.
The prophet called for a world-wide fast for the virus and it was so neat to see all of the people from all the different religions coming together. This is picture my friend posted that her friend had sketched. I loved the image.
The other pics below are of Brielle on one of her classroom chats, Skylee getting ready for Aubrey and Jaston's "wedding" haha. Abby and Skylee were hanging out social-isolation style- 6 feet away from each other. We were sneaking to Grandma and Grandpa's to heart attack their windows trying not to get caught. Grandma wasn't feeling well so we were trying to cheer her up. She had a nasty kidney stone.
We have also been spending a lot of time doing hikes. These pictures were taken on our hike on Aspiration Trail. It is this awesome hike where people paint rocks with inspirational quotes to help you get to the top of the trail. Dayton's preschool teacher hid a rock up there and asked the kids to go up and find it. After we went Brielle's music teacher put one up there too so we will have to go again and find it.
Teona set up a Facebook group for our family that has different challenges each week and different things you do each day. Not sure I can remember them all I think its Make it Monday, Talk Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday, and Fun Friday. We went and took inspirational quotes to hang on a nursing home windows because they aren't allowed visitors right now with all the restrictions for Thoughtful Thursday. We were also challenged as a family the first week to build something out of Legos. This is what we built a Quarantine tower.

Birthday Date for the Soon-To-Be Birthday Girl

A few days before Brielle's birthday, her and Mom went on a birthday. We had to get pretty creative because not much is open. But we decided to go up on the old airport hill and Mom introduced Brielle to custard from Culver's (So yummy!). And Brielle had fun throwing rocks down the mountain and enjoying the pretty view. She insisted on stopping at Swig on the way home to get a fruit water too. I would say it was a pretty great day full of yummy treats and some fun company. Grateful for this cutie!

Easter 2020

Easter this year was a bit different because of the social distancing. We did get to spend the morning with Nana because she came over to do the sacrament/church with us. It was a quiet Easter. On Friday, the prophet asked everyone to do a world-wide fast to help us with COVID-19 and it was so neat to see how many people from other religions and even those who had left the Church decided to come together and join their prayers and faith with one another to pray for our nation. It was very special and really put a special spirit in our home for Easter. We have also really had to join together as a family and support each other during this time. We are especially grateful for our Savior and all He did for us so that we can be together eternally. What a blessing to have that knowledge.

Quarantine Birthday

Brielle has been planning her birthday party for the past nine months. Pretty much daily she would let us know of her newest plan for her birthday- House of Jump, swimming at the Community Center, having a big party at our house, going to the carousel, playing at the splash pad and it goes on and on. Notice all of these things are including things that we can't do during this social distancing business. So I was so stressed that she would be disappointed in her stay-home, no- friends birthday. So we worked extra hard to make it special. We did the traditional balloons in the bed to begin with. I made this poster board for Brielle and put it outside with pens and sanitizer and chalk so neighbors could come by and leave birthday messages. They were all so sweet and made it very special. She also was spoiled with a doorbell ditch Fiiz drink from Aunt Kelsi and the girls. She had a drive-by by her best friend, Olivia and Keely (my cousin) and both of them brought sweet gifts for her. Nana came over for cake and the traditional candle on the Zinger. We took her to McDonald's for happy meals for lunch and Nana brought Panda Express for dinner. Then Mom spent 6+ hours working on the perfect unicorn cake (well, it may not have turned out perfect but that was the intention). At one point, Brielle said "I didn't expect to have so much fun." She got to skip her chores and then after dinner we got to watch the new Disney movie Onward. In order to watch Onward we had to break down and get Disney Plus which the kids have wanted for quite some time. Minus all the friends, I think Brielle had a great birthday. We sure love her and just wanted her to have a special day.
