We got to spend the week

Our Future Home

      We have began the process of building our home. We picked our lot on February 25, 2015. We actually wanted to build around the corner but we heard the lots across the street from that was commercial. We really liked this lot but it had a higher lot premium so we looked at others. We waited about five weeks for the permit and we received that this last week on April 7th and on Friday April 9th they poured the cement in the footings. We are hoping they will pour the concrete slab soon and begin framing. Once they start framing they say it's a 45 day build schedule. 

        When we first showed Jaston the lot he was very concerned because we would be building our house on sand. He said, "but if we build it on sand, when it rains,  it will wash away!" We brought him back when they started pouring the concrete and explained they were going to make a rock so that we could build our house on it. He was so excited and yelled ," So then it won't wash away!". Made me and Jeff laugh. At least he is listening occasionally even if he misses the real concept sometimes ;).

Guess Who's Two??

Our sweet little Brielle will be two tomorrow! I will be at work until late so we had an early birthday party for her. I'm so, so grateful for this crazy little munchkin. Somedays, she is SO darn stubborn but then two minutes later she does something adorable and all is forgiven. 

     Brielle has every person in our house wrapped around her little finger (her Momma most of all). She loves to get in the "bub" (tub),  loves yogurt and string cheese (somedays I feel that's all she ever eats), she loves oranges (sucking the juice out of them and spitting the rest out). She is a great little signer and has always been very clear (even as a new babe) on communicating what she needs and especially what she wants. She is not one to compromise- if she says she doesn't want something she is pretty much never going to want it. And if she wants something, it is going to take a whole lot of distraction techniques to try and get her little brain on something else. 

     We switched her into a big girl bed about a month ago because she decided to be my first child to climb out of her crib. (No idea how my other two never did they are such big climbers). The first few days of her in her bed were amazing. We would put her to bed and be surprised that she would stay there. We kept thinking it was way too easy of a transition. After a few nights she started figuring out she could get out and it was a little trickier but she still did pretty good. As long as I keep bringing her books she eventually starts reading one and I will hear her just gabbing, gabbing, until she eventually goes to sleep. I love to her her little jabber, jabber. 

     I never knew how Mom's did it when they had kids that followed them around all day and wanted to be held and entertained every minute. I even may have thought it was because of parenting but man, did I learn with Brielle. She is my constant shadow. I love, love, love that I am the center of her universe, but occasionally it is exhausting. I have to have strategies to sneak in a bath and a meal here and there without my little tag along trying to climb in and eat all my food ;). 

      She has started getting into the habit of climbing in bed with me in the morning and cuddling and oh my goodness do I love it! The other day I had to be up early so I wasn't in bed when she came to cuddle. She came in and sat with me in the bathroom for a few and then went in to cuddle with Jeff. We sure adore our Brielle and I can't even begin to imagine life without her.

Lake to Lake Relay 2015

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to do a fifty mile relay with these amazing ladies. It was SUCH a blast. I truly think it was THE funnest race I have ever done. We each had two legs we ran and we got very close very quickly. I didn't walk for several days after the fact but my first leg of the race I averaged a 8:43 for 5.25 miles which is super fast for me. I loved it! My second leg was a 9:30 which is more what I expected but truly SO SO fun! From left to Right there is Darleen, Jen, Donna, myself, and Angie. Greatest team ever. 

Our team name was RIOT which stands for

 Running Is Our Therapy. 

February Fun

I invited sweet Cassie and Danelle to my house for a fun little Valentine's party for the kids. They had an absolute blast and it was so great to have my dear friends over. I love that our kids get along so well and their Mama's are amazing. 

This is a random picture of a Sunday night dinner at G and G's. This is us making delicious tinfoil dinners. 

Skylee got a special award at her school in February. It was the sunshine award. It was for being respectful, responsible and resilient. Not too much more a mom could hope for :) She is a great little student. On her last report card she got a four on language arts and the teacher said she doesn't give those out very often- Skylee and one other student were the only ones to receive that. i thought that was pretty neat. She sure loves to read and is a very intelligent little girl. Her teacher only had great things to say about her.
