38 Weeks

I am 38 weeks and two days today. This little girl is due next weekend. Crazy! I had a pretty rough night last night. Abt 3 in the morning I woke up with contractions that were about 2 minutes apart. They lasted about an hour and a half and then I went back to sleep and woke up and they were gone. I had a doc appt today so I was hoping that the contractions were at least productive and did something for me. Turns out they did :) 
     Last week I was at a one and my cervix wasn't thinning at all. I am now at a 2-3 and my cervix is starting to thin :) What does that mean exactly? It means this baby girl could come tonight or she could come in a few weeks still. But for me it means my body is working towards getting her out. 
     I was a little concerned cuz I had lost four pounds since last week ( def not from a lack of eating ) but the doctor said my fluids at this point in pregnancy will fluctuate so much he wasn't concerned. The baby is positioned right but still high. He said that is pretty normal for moms who have had kids before. Since my mom just went home yesterday from visiting it would probably be nice for her if we waited a bit. And of course for my dad or Jeff the weekend would be the easiest. Unfortunately, we don't get to choose. So we will see when this babe decides to make her debut. Hopefully sometime before next weekend.
