I just realized that I have talked about moving but never really told the story. Jeff applied for this job kind of on a whim. I believe at that time it was the only out of state job he had applied for. They invited us down for an interview. While Jeff was at his interview they got me a massage and a pedicure (can't complain). Then they set us up with a real estate agent to get a tour of the area and look at neighborhoods.
Jeff got an email about a week later saying they had decided not to hire him because he had no experience as a Nurse Practitioner (story of our lives). We were pretty used to rejection at this point so he kept interviewing- in St. George and Salt Lake. After about a month Jeff got an email from the recruiter in Kingman saying that the doc might be interested in Jeff again. We weren't sure what that meant exactly but they invited us to come down again.
So we went back down and basically had a repeat of the first time except Jeff went and shadowed the doc while I went and got a mani/pedi. Then I went over to the hospital and got a tour and met the people Jeff would be working with. They were all super nice and I met several doctors which I was surprised were all LDS.
That night we hooked up with our agent again and he took us to see a few rentals. When we were almost done he got a call saying this rental might be coming available and we should go look. So we looked and we fell in love. It was perfect for our family. At this point I was starting to be a little more optimistic that maybe this was where we were supposed to be.
We went out to dinner with the doctor, the manager, and some of the nurses and their spouses that Jeff would be working with. Wow, what a great group of people. I was so impressed. Doctor Naegle ( Who I might add is an incredible doctor with a hundred letters behind her name, people come from all over to see her with cancer) is so sweet and friendly and family-oriented. I was impressed with how much she knew the manager's kids. I really felt that if Jeff were to take this job that I could be a part of it.
Jeff had told them that it was up to me whether or not we would move to Kingman so they were cracking jokes the whole time about how I should choose to come. They really were such good people though. It was interesting though because numbers were never discussed, there was never an official offer or anything. We got home and were kind of confused. They kept talking about if you decide to come, and etc but never officially offered. So he called the recruiter the next day and she emailed over the official offer and the numbers. It was a very fair offer. So we started to pray and as time went on we started to feel it was the right thing for our family.
Getting Jeff licensed in Arizona has turned out to be quite the task but the plan is now that we will move down August firstish because Skylee starts school on the 9th. We still don't have an official start date for Jeff because of the credentialing and licensing and everything but hopefully it will be end of August so he won't have to commute to St. George to work for a month. We shall see.
