Randomness

Dayton's first trip to the dentist. He saw all his siblings put the headphones on and watch the movie so he wanted to try it out even though he went into another room to meet the dentist.

We loved the girl's loft beds for the most part but it was time for a change (let me just say changing the sheets in those things was a nightmare which I had to do quite often for awhile with Brielle ). So Jeff tore them down- he mentioned several times how much less time it took to tear them down than to put them up. Skylee has been really wanting her own space so Jeff decided to divide the rooms in half to give each kid their own space while still sharing a room.

I was the appointed painter and you wouldn't believe the time it took to paint these two rooms. Jeff took off an entire week and that is what it took to get these two rooms done. Every last day of that week off. It felt SO good to get done.

The kids officially learned how to play Hand and Foot for the first time. This is a game I spent hours and hours playing as a kid mostly in the wee hours of the morning at my Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house with aunts and siblings and my dad. SO many great memories- so important to pass down this tradition.
This little monkey is officially into EVERYTHING. I have to lock all cupboards, shut all doors - especially bathrooms- or we will find him doing this with the TP or having lots of fun splashing in the toilet. We are mostly past the stuff in the mouth phase but not too long ago I found half a cockroach in his mouth and freaked out and Jeff was able to find the other half in his mouth too. Bleh! I was sick over that for a few days and it still makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it, so moving on...
When Dayton says goodnight he blows kisses with his fishy face smacking. It's seriously the cutest thing and I'll be so sad when he stops doing it. And truly I have no idea what to do with that hair. He is starting to get a little more in the back but for the most part it's all just right there on top of his head. It used to have a swirl to it but it's gotten so long I try to just do a comb-overish look ?? People keep telling me I can't cut it cuz it's his trademark but I really don't know how to tame it.
I put some vinyl on the boy's wall right above Jaston's bed and above the changing table and everytime I'm changing Dayton he gets so excited and points and does his little "Wazzat?" whisper and then wants to touch it when he's done. Glad he likes it.
