Dayton got his fourth casts on, his tenotomy (minor surgery releasing his Achilles' tendon), and his fifth and last casts on. The first pic is of Dayton chilling in Grandpa's favorite position at Aunt Teona's house before we head to Shriner's for the casting. I didn't know we were doing the tenotomy today (thank heavens) because I didn't have time to stress. They put a numbing cream on his ankle (after taking off his casts), had us wait 45 minutes and then the doc came to get him. I am currently waiting for her to bring him back. Supposedly they give him some more numbing shots and make a small incision and clip the tendon allowing it to heal stretched and allow his heel to drop. It has been the allotted time so hoping all is well. The other pic is of the doc coming and getting him from us. I have been so impressed with the people here at Shriner's and especially our Doctor. It has been a long and exhausting process coming up north each week but it really has been a positive experience. Now for three weeks in these casts and on to the brace/BNB. I'm nervous about that transition too.
