Skylee said it was a very special day and she doesn't think she will ever forget it. She was brave and sang a solo of "I Am a Child of God," and despite her baby sister trying to help Mom with the accompaniment she sang strong and finished it without a second thought. Her Grandma Johnson gave a talk on Baptism and her Nana gave a prayer. She was baptized and confirmed by Jeff. She said she felt so good coming out of the water. When she was blessed to have the gift of the Holy Ghost she said she felt something warm in her heart.
I hope she realizes what a special, important day this is. It's tough at eight to take on such big things but if anyone can do it, we know our Skylee can. So grateful for her and her example for our family. My heart is so full of love and gratitude for her, our Heavenly Father and the love I feel from our family and friends!
It was essential to get some shots of the food because it was a LOT of work to get to this point. I could NOT decide what to do for food. Skylee really wanted hot dogs but I was worried it would be too early for hot dogs (which was good because we ended up getting there at 10:45 or so). Just a few days earlier Desi and I had gone to visit Cassie at the hospital (she had surgery) and she mentioned a yogurt bar which I felt was brilliant. So voila, a yogurt bar it was complete with fruit, muffins, watermelon, and a cupcake dress cake. SO much work but worth it all for our sweet Skylee and the wonderful family and friends that came to enjoy it.

Lee was having fun playing with the kids and the camera and I thought this picture actually turned out pretty good so I thought I would post it. Good ol' Papa!
